Biological Safety Cabinet (Class II type A2)
Biological Safety Cabinet (Class II type A2)
Our Biosafety Cabinet is specifically designed to Biosafety Levels 1 & 2 (BSL 1 & BSL 2) laboratories and acts as a ventilated containment unit used for handling hazardous biological agents. It is designed to protect both the operator and the environment from exposure to biological contaminants. The cabinet operates with a downward laminar airflow pattern that is designed to exhaust air away from the operator and towards a HEPA filter. This airflow pattern ensures that any biological agents are captured and filtered before being released into the environment. The standard technical specifications of a Class II Type A2 biosafety cabinet include a minimum inflow velocity of 0.5 meters per second, a minimum face velocity of 0.3 meters per second, and a minimum exhaust volume of 30% of the total volume of the cabinet. It also features a HEPA filter with a minimum efficiency of 99.99% at 0.3 microns.
Key Features
- GI sheet epoxy coated outer body and SS-304 inner body
- The unit is fitted with prefilter and HEPA/ULPA Filter
- Air is sucked through the pre-filter and the excess air is thrown out from the top, through a HEPA filter of size 1x 1x 6”
- Front 10° slanted to offer operator comfort while working for long time, reduce glare and maximize reach into the work area.
